"Life is too important to be taken seriously"
Nancy, originally from Germany, has known Dahab for 20 years. These 20 years have all been spent in the diving industry. From the very beginning of her instructorial career her ambition was always to become a PADI Course Director and teach the full range of Instructor-level courses. Since then, Nancy has worked on more than 75 IDCs and assisted more than 1000 candidates to realise their dream of becoming a PADI diving instructor
"Not only because of her experience or knowledge, Nancy is a extremely professional Course Director. With her unbelievable amount of energy, enthusiasm, humour and patience, she is a great leader of your IDC team.” - PADI Course Director Dave Johnson
Nancy has also been recognised by PADI for her translation work on the PADI Course Director Training Courses in Malaysia, as she speaks German, English and Arabic.
In 2007 the Red Sea magazine, H2O, published an article about Nancy’s extraordinary work rate, as in 2006, she taught the highest number of IDC candidates in the Sinai.
Nancy has received the Platinum Course Director status from PADI headquarters. This status has been achieved by less than 50 Course Directors worldwide.
"If you think that you know everything, you will know that you do know nothing"
Yasser has lived and worked in Dahab for seven years. First as a PADI Divemaster and then coming to us to become a PADI Instructor. During these seven years, Nancy recognised Yasser’s exceptional teaching skills and she became his mentor to assist his natural transition to IDC Staff Instructor.
Besides working five times a year with Nancy on the IDCs, Yasser is the manager of a well-established dive centre in Dahab. Yasser’s easy-going teaching style and his language abilities (Arabic, English & German) make him a very great asset to our IDCs
From the very beginning of the IDC, Yasser devotes all of his energy and attention to the individual candidate’s educational needs. From his perspective, time is something to be given freely and as and when it is needed. As an Egyptian working in the dive industry in Dahab, Yasser has a unique perspective on the educational challenges that face Arabic-speaking candidates, which is why he runs English/Arabic study groups before the IDC.
"The beginning of all wisdom is confusion"
Hendrik was born in Germany and came to Dahab three years ago. He is the Senior Instructor for Sinai Divers here in Dahab. He achieved his IDC Staff Instructor level with us in 2007. Five times a year, the team has the pleasure of Hendrik’s company as his energy and sunshine mood help to create a great group dynamic within the IDC.
Hendrik is responsible for the German study groups before the IDC.
"Live long and prosper \V/"
Samra is German/Egyptian and has known in Dahab for 17 years. She is our youngest and longest serving IDC team member. If she is in Dahab, Samra helps our Instructors with the logistics of the Discover Scuba Diving program. As a very important part of the team Samra spends her days with us in the IDC.
Samra’s positive energy helps to encourage and stimulate the candidates on the IDC. She speaks German, English, Arabic and French. Quite simply, we could not imagine an IDC without her.
